The Spring 2014 New Media Student show at Salisbury University’s Electronic Gallery is entitled Intecgalactic. This semester’s theme is related to space travel with lo and hi fi technology, hence In-tec-galactic. The centerpiece of the show is a single channel work played across three large screen monitors. The video is of an imagined ride through outer space, planetary systems, and alien landscapes, and is created by the Advanced New Media Students using state of the art motion graphics software, Cinema 4D. The New Media II and Advanced Students have collaborated together to transform the gallery into an intimate and immersive experience. They have constructed a cardboard labyrinth in which to explore hidden live feed cameras, video monitors, and strange electronic sounds. Also featured in Intecgalactic are New Media I and II green screen projects, music videos, and poetic montages.
