Irish glass artist Eoin Breadon will give an artist talk on Thursday, October 11 at 5:30pm in Conway Hall, room 153. Breadon works in the tradition of the seanchai, a storyteller in Irish culture. By incorporating the visual language and poetic elements of Irish heritage, Breadon writes that he “balances the ancient traditions and usage of materials with an artistic license that stays true to the essence of historical, cultural transmission.”
Breadon has trained in glass studios in Ireland, the US and Australia. He received his MFA from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in 2004. In addition to exhibiting internationally, Breadon serves as an Assistant Professor of Art at the University of Wisconsin River Falls. His work has entered public and private collections around the world.
