SU Art Galleries is pleased to present a week-long Nature Installation Art Summer Camp for kids aged 6-14 with teaching artist Christy Cox! In this half-day program, students will learn to combine natural materials found on the SU Campus arboretum with art supplies such as paint, clay, wood, cellophane and polish to make temporary medium to large-scale installation pieces in the Rose Garden behind Holloway Hall. Through this immersive and hands-on arts experience, students will explore the art-making process from finding inspiration to building refining their work, meanwhile connecting their ideas on color, space and structure.
The camp will take place from Monday, July 8th to Friday, July 12th, from 1 pm to 5 pm. Tuition includes all materials and two snacks a day. The week will conclude in an outdoor viewing reception for participants and their parents.
