Teen Earth Art Workshop

Artwork by James Brunt

Saturday, October 12th (Adverse Weather Date: Sunday, October 13th)
Schumaker Park, 10 am – 5 pm

SU Art Galleries is pleased to present the Teen Earth Art Workshop, led by teaching artist Christy Cox. Open to creative and inquisitive 13-18 year-olds, the workshop focuses on creating site-specific earthworks out of natural and found materials on the theme of Eastern Shore waterways.

Preserving the natural resources of the Earth is more important than ever. This workshop aims to encourage teen artists to think about unconventional art materials that they can find in nature, and give them a unique awareness on how the nature around us can be incorporated into their work. As they make their work, the participants will explore important artistic principles such as form, structure and concept, and take their art out of the traditional classroom space, into nature!

Please sign up via this Eventbrite link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/teen-earth-art-workshop-tickets-70547002985. All materials and lunch are included in the $40 tuition. There is a 10% discount for the children of Salisbury University Faculty and Staff. A number of scholarship spots are available. Please contact Galleries Director Elizabeth Kauffman at eckauffman@salisbury.eduto inquire about scholarships.
