Carrie Fucile is a Baltimore-based interdisciplinary artist and musician whose practice centers on psychogeography. She uses sound, movement, and physical materials to explore the memories accumulated in objects, architecture, and the landscape. Her creative efforts interpret the effects of government, economics, and changes in the lived environment on the human condition. Fucile has presented her work at venues around the world that include The Walters Art Museum, Baltimore, MD; The High Zero Festival, Baltimore, MD; IA&A at Hillyer, Washington, DC; Vox Populi, Philadelphia, PA; and Casa Contemporânea, São Paulo, BR. She has never held gallery representation and has not been the subject of a major exhibition at a museum or commercial art space. Among other honors, Fucile is a three-time recipient of the Maryland State Art Council’s Individual Artist Award. As part of her research, she has completed residencies at D'CLINIC in Hungary and World of Co in Bulgaria. Her recordings have been released on Ehse Records and Protagonist Music. She is a Lecturer in the Department of Art + Design at Towson University in Maryland.
