This exhibition features the work of artists Michel Demanche, Caitlin Gill and Christine Tyler. Their artwork speaks to the plight of women, using birds and other natural forms to undermine the male gaze, tell allegorical tales, and call attention to recent political issues.

We will be holding an opening reception Friday, February 16th 5 - 7pm at our Downtown Gallery to commemorate the opening of the show and celebrate these wonderful women. Light refreshments and snacks will be available.

Michel Demanche

Michel Demanche defines herself as an artist whose work deals with perception, illusion, and memory. She regularly combines traditional photography, printmaking, painting, drawing and handmade papers in her compositions which are two-dimensional or fully three-dimensional by turn. Her works have been exhibited nationally and internationally garnering many awards such as 1st place in photography at the Florence Biennial.

Caitlin Gill

Caitlin Gill is a mixed media artist living in Baltimore, Maryland. She has a B. A in Drawing and Painting from Towson University and an MFA in Curatorial Practice and Art Criticism from the Ontario College of Art and Design. Gill uses printmaking, sculpting, drawing, painting, collage, and fiber to create artwork  that explores ideas of identity, femininity, and domesticity.

Christine Lee Tyler

Christine is a NYC and DC-based Multidisciplinary Artist who is passionate about women supporting women. She channels her strong self-confidence within her work. Her work has been featured in many galleries over the past sevral years.
