February 10 - April 4, 2020 | University Gallery, 109 Fulton Hall

Latinexodus featured works by Hoesy Corona, Lizania Cruz, Luis Sahagun, René Treviño and Nora Valdez, and was on view February 10 - April 4 at the University Gallery. This exhibition presents the artists' thought-provoking and poetic responses to a long history of tumult and unrest in Latin America, charting environmental, economic, political and socio-economic developments that have led to mass migration and immigration of Latinx people in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.

Artist Nora Valdez gave a lecture on February 5 at 5:30 pm in Conway 153. Valdez uses sculpture and installations in her practice to create images that reflect on the nature of change, the life of the individual, and the forces that buffet our souls. The lecture is free and open to the public and no RSVP is required.
